Advanced skills in Altium Designer for 1st year engineering students

24/02/2024

In this session, the mentor is Salmen Ismail, a 3rd year EE student. The focus shifted to a practical application which concerns the design of a TCRT5000 Line Follower Module. Initially, the student mentor commenced by explaining the schematic diagram of this module, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of its internal architecture and all circuitry details. This foundational knowledge served as a precursor to the hands-on aspect of the session. Transitioning to practical implementation, they navigated the process of PCB design using Altium Designer. By applying the both theoretical and practical concepts discussed in the previous session, participants gained firsthand experience in translating schematic designs into tangible PCB layouts. By the end of the session, attendees acquired valuable insights into the integration of sensors and electronic components within PCB designs.
